Naturally, step by step

We draw inspiration from nature in both materials and design. Our first step shoes are therefore made using materials such as vegetable-tanned leather, wool, natural rubber, and cotton – carefully selected with respect for the child’s feet.

Don’t forget the growth allowance

For young children, it’s important that first step shoes are not too large. Too much extra space can affect balance and movement. We therefore recommend a maximum growth allowance of 1 cm for first walkers, and ideally around 0.5 cm for the best fit.

Laces or velcro fastening

It’s important to consider the child’s foot shape – whether narrow, regular, or wide. That’s why we recommend laces or velcro fastenings for first step shoes, as they allow the shoe to be adjusted precisely to the foot. In many of our models, the insole can be removed, making it easy to check whether the size is right.
